DID YOU KNOW . . . YOU CAN CHECK TO SEE IF AN ACCOUNT NUMBER IS ACTIVE IN THE PANTHERBUY SYSTEM?
After an account number is activated in the PRISM system, it becomes available for use within the PantherBuy system. This activation can take up to two hours. However, it’s quick and easy to look up an account number to see if the account is active.
HERE’S HOW:
- After adding items to your shopping cart, click on the Review button in the requisition workflow

- Check to ensure that the shipping information is correct
- There are two sections within the Accounting Codes area
- Click on the second “edit” button

- A pop up window will appear
- Enter in the entire 32-digit account number as such xx-xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
- Click on the “Save” button

- If the account number is valid, you will see the account number appear in the requisition:

- If the account number is not valid in the PantherBuy system, you will receive an error message, however you will not lose any items that may be in your shopping cart:

- If your account number is not appearing as available in the PantherBuy system two hours after you have activated the account number in PRISM, please contact the PantherBuy team at pantherbuy@bc.pitt.edu
